L J Transportation are seeking to appoint a reliable and skilled Class 2 HGV Recovery Driver to join our ever growing team. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of vehicles.
The Truck will be parked at our Enfield location for either of the following shifts:
- Mid shift (10am-10pm) 5 days on/3 days off shift pattern
- Night Shift (8 hour shift, can be flexible on start time for this) Monday-Friday no weekend work required
Competitive Salary: £15 an hour - to be increased to £16 an hour after successful completion of probationary period

Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of vehicles, particularly on flatbed vehicles.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating flatbed lorries.
- Minimum 1 year's experience driving either a Class 2 or Class 1 vehicle.
- Proven experience as a recovery driver and/or mechanical knowledge desirable but not essential.
- A clean UK driving licence; valid and up to date CPC card and a clean DBS record is essential for this role. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in immediate withdrawal from the recruitment process.
