We are currently partnering with a multinational Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation services provider with offices across Europe. Due to continued growth in their industrial arm, they are now seeking an experienced Authorised Person to join their team in London on a Data Centre project.
Responsibilities
- Permit-to-Work Control: Manage and issue permits for HV/LV electrical systems, mechanical systems, or specialist services (depending on discipline), ensuring safe and compliant execution of high-risk works.
- Isolation & Energisation Management: Oversee isolations, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and energisation activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and data centre operational standards.
- Risk Assessment & Safety Planning: Review method statements, RAMS, switching schedules, and technical documentation to ensure safe system of work for all authorised activities on site.
- Coordination with Site Teams: Work closely with project managers, commissioning teams, and subcontractors to schedule authorised works, prevent conflicts, and maintain safe system integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Compliance Monitoring & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of permits, switching logs, isolations, authorisations, and safety documentation; support audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and client procedures.
Requirements
- Must have valid HV/LV Certifications
- Must have relevant degree level qualifications or equivalent trades background
- Must have 8 years’ experience in a similar role on large scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
