L.E.K.’s Data & Analytics (D&A) practice is at the forefront of helping clients solve their toughest commercial challenges through data-driven insights. The D&A team delivers projects as part of our D&A service line, as well as supporting case teams across the business in solving a range of analytical problems, enabling L.E.K. to provide clients with the best possible advice. About the role: We are seeking an accomplished leader to head the ongoing growth of the European Data & Analytics (D&A) Practice and drive ongoing development of L.E.K.’s D&A capability. You will be helping to develop and deliver our D&A service line offerings, as well as working alongside experienced project teams to develop cutting edge solutions to our clients’ toughest commercial problems. The successful candidate will help sell and deliver D&A projects, develop the service line to provide innovative and high impact client solutions, whilst continuing to provide high quality capability to support L.E.K.’s broader business by leading and developing the D&A team. Key responsibilities include: Running the European D&A Practice, balancing long and short-term priorities in collaboration with global leaders including developing and rolling out new/upgraded tools and techniques. Develop and lead a highly efficient and effective multi-disciplinary D&A team. Actively support sale of D&A projects and shape the development of client-facing D&A offerings. Manage delivery of complex D&A centric projects. Practice management: Takes overall responsibility for developing, iterating and enacting our strategy for D&A capability (working collaboratively globally). Work with regional, office and functional management to optimise outcomes for L.E.K. and D&A. Oversee D&A progress and outputs (i.e., the targets and milestones agreed for the year), ensuring outputs are of the highest quality and in line with the annual budget/plan. Ensure that the D&A toolkit and 3rd party partnerships best meet L.E.K.’s needs, informed by competitor and market intelligence. Drive innovation through the IP pipeline and build the team’s capabilities. Own D&A marketing / advocacy (internally and externally) and contribute to its delivery e.g., frequent and insightful points of view. D&A team development: Ensures D&A team are bought into the strategy for D&A at L.E.K., and work to deliver it. Own and enact the D&A career path and work with the People team to enact the remuneration strategy. Lead recruitment efforts to attract top talent to the D&A team across data science, data analytics and data engineering. Coach and mentor team members, supporting their growth and success, with a particular focus on the senior D&A team. Own the professional development programme for the D&A team and the D&A streams of the professional development programme for the broader European consulting team. Sales support and service line development: Works with Service Line partners to design and develop market-ready D&A offerings and build the required capabilities to deliver them. Actively support sales efforts including creating client discussion materials and proposals and joining pitches. Monitor market trends to identify opportunities and threats, developing new service lines accordingly. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including European Partners, Managers, and the Global D&A team. Project delivery: Where appropriate, act as project manager on D&A centric projects taking ownership of the deliverables, day to day client management and overall project execution. Alternatively, act as a senior advisor on D&A centric projects providing expert input on D&A topics. Lead by example and demonstrate the project delivery pathway for other D&A team members. Focus on complex projects, typically characterised by new techniques, toolkits or extremely large amounts of data. Key skills and qualifications: Extensive experience in data and analytics leadership roles within a professional services environment, with a proven record of developing teams. Expertise in modern Data & Analytics tools, techniques and cloud-based solutions e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, Python. Experience helping to sell and deliver/project manage high value, high impact projects across data strategy, analytics, and data science. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver client-facing service lines and go-to-market strategies. Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to set and deliver long-term objectives. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience fostering collaboration across global teams. Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
