In the land domain, our T7 and T4 multi-mission robots deliver next-generation remote capabilities and uncompromised performance. We design and manufacture world-leading land force protection systems, cyber and electromagnetic activities (CEMA), electronic warfare (EW) and encryption capabilities. Our cyber capabilities provide an information advantage in the fields of kinetic conflict, cyber warfare, force protection and counterterrorism.
We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to lead a team developing mechanical enclosures for innovative products in fields including Electronic Warfare and Data Encryption. You will use CAD techniques to produce functional and cost-effective designs, taking the product from concept through to production and beyond. In this role you will use your knowledge and experience to contribute directly to projects while guiding and developing the capabilities of the mechanical design team. You will work as part of a multi-discipline team, collaborating with other functions as well as external parties such as customers and vendors.

What the role will involve: The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Leading, directing and reviewing the work of a team of mechanical engineers.
- Performance management for a small team of mechanical engineers, including goal setting, staff development and compensation planning.
- Coaching and mentoring of team members.
- Delivery of conceptual designs, detail designs, manufacturing specifications, operational documentation and validation evidence for mechanical engineering solutions in relation to defined requirements.
- Planning and execution of tasks to deliver specific agreed objectives on time, demonstrating control of cost and quality.
- Identifying and exploiting opportunities for cost savings, efficiency and business improvement.
What you'll bring: The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Demonstrable experience of team leadership, ideally as a line manager.
- Experience in designing fabricated, machined, injection moulded and die cast electronics enclosures for EMC.
- Experience in the use of 3D mechanical design tools, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
- Familiarity with the design of rugged electronics enclosures for harsh environments, including the use of structural and thermal analysis tools (Celsius EC, Ansys IcePak or similar).
- Experience in designing electronics cooling solutions.
- Experience of designing parts in all major material groups.
- Good understanding of configuration control processes using SAP, Aras PLM or similar.
- A minimum of 10+ years of industrial experience is preferred.
