Job Purpose: You will serve as a member of the cluster Leadership Team and Regional V&A Leadership Team, with accountability for revenue generation, sustainable access, and long‑term value realisation for the Rare Disease portfolio. The role leads the execution of payer value strategy, strategic pricing, and market access, ensuring optimal and equitable patient access through high‑level engagement with HTA authorities, governmental decision‑makers, the clinical community, and—together with Government Affairs—advocacy leadership. The role has a material influence on short‑term performance and long‑term business sustainability across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Value & Access function across the Cluster, developing and sustaining a high‑performing, multi‑geography team and ensuring consistent application of regional best practices, guidelines, and standards of excellence.
- Build strategic relationships with HTA bodies, payers, governmental institutions, patient organisations, clinical leaders, and other key stakeholders to enable effective partnership, influence, and access outcomes at national and regional level.
- Own and drive the Market Access Operating Plan (OP) across the Cluster; ensure strong cross‑functional alignment, disciplined execution, and delivery against defined objectives.
- Define, monitor, and enforce Market Access KPIs, holding countries accountable for execution, pricing sustainability, and access outcomes; proactively identify risks and lead mitigation strategies.
- Lead the development and execution of pricing, reimbursement, and access strategies, ensuring optimal coverage, sustainable pricing, and mitigation of price erosion across the product lifecycle, with direct impact on regional revenue and profitability.
- Partner with International Market Access to inform evidence generation plans for pipeline and in‑line products, ensuring regional access requirements are embedded early in development.
- Collaborate closely with several other departments.
Position Requirements:
- Strong strategic commercial insight through experience developing national market access strategies in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Health Economics background.
- Successfully navigated through multiple Health Technology Appraisals (HTAs).
- Proven Government Affairs experience.
- Extensive and up to date knowledge of the local healthcare environment regulations, policies and procedures at national and sub-national level required, knowledge/experience working across multiple geographies and market access environments preferred.
- Possess expert national knowledge of reimbursement processes in healthcare via government and/or insurance companies.
- Clear track record of working with customers, patient organisations, policy makers and stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
- Proven track record of strong cross functional working capabilities.
- Excellent local and English language skills, language skills supporting other countries within the cluster are a plus.
