Overview
Horticulture nursery team member – full-time position near Knutsford, Cheshire. We are a long-established family business growing specialist garden plants which we deliver to prestigious garden centres and specialist plant nurseries across the UK. We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic person to join our loyal, friendly team of approximately 9 people.
Responsibilities
- Operate and assist with the nursery production line: picking, pruning, weeding, cleaning and labelling plants ready for dispatch to customers.
- Maintain plants on the nursery (pruning, watering, shaping, etc.).
- Assist with unloading plants on arrival at the nursery.
- Put out plants into greenhouses on their arrival at the nursery.
Requirements
- Enjoy working as part of a team which takes great pride in their work.
- Enthusiastic, keen to learn new skills and determined to meet deadlines.
- All training will be provided; some experience working with plants and in a horticulture environment is preferred.
- Due to location you will need your own transport.
- This role will suit someone who is hands-on with plants, enjoys working as part of a team and likes variety in their role.
Hours
8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, with a 45-minute lunch break. The nursery is open Monday to Friday only; no shifts or weekend working required.
