The Opportunity
You will be working within a team of technical experts to support the design and manufacture of ceramic capacitors, for use in high reliability applications such as global automotive, aerospace and space industries. The role of the Process Engineer is to maintain and optimise existing processes, equipment, and operating procedures to improve quality, efficiency, and safety. The successful candidate will also design, trial and implement new processes and manage scale-up of products from development through to full scale production.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and collaborate in troubleshooting and optimising the production process to reduce scrap, improve quality and increase production efficiency.
- Implement and maintain the necessary controls to achieve consistently stable processes.
- Perform data analysis, responding to yield issues and delivering continuous improvement and cost saving projects.
- Collaborate with sister plants in US and Asia, sharing best in class technologies.
- Monitor critical process parameters and reacting to out-of-control situations, disposition of non-conforming product.
- Researching, Developing and Innovating new and current processes to drive Continuous Improvement Programmes.
- Project Management will be a significant part of your role.
- Evaluating new materials for enhanced process improvement or product range development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Honours Degree / Bachelors (minimum 2.2) in a relevant science or engineering related discipline. Relevant disciplines include, but are not exclusive to, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing /Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Materials Science, Chemistry, etc.
- You will have a minimum of 1 years process engineering and/or process control in a high-tech manufacturing environment and a proven track record of solving complex problems.
- Be able to deliver on your KPIs, strong project management and organisational skills and enjoy the challenge of problem solving and thinking outside the box.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
