Kyndryl is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team of Technical Specialists. You will be at the forefront of protecting our customers\’ computer systems and networks from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. You will use a variety of tools and techniques to defend against cyber threats such as malware, ransomware, phishing, and data breaches. You will also have the opportunity to implement new cybersecurity systems and policies to ensure the protection of our customers\’ data and assets. You will monitor and review potential threats from cybersecurity systems, conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs) with new security software, and evaluate its effectiveness and potential integration into the organization. You will enrich the organization\\\’s knowledge of cyber threats and best practices and provide automation scripts for threat hunting in customer environments. You will have opportunities to conduct penetration testing and threat and vulnerability assessments of applications, operating systems, and networks, respond to cybersecurity breaches, identify intrusions, perform root cause analysis, and assist in creating and implementing security solutions. You will also have the opportunity to work in security innovation, exploring \”outside the box\” ideas that could change the trajectory of cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

  • Protect Kyndryl\\\’s customers\\\’ networks and systems from cyber threats and unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor threat activity across cybersecurity systems and conduct POCs for new security software.
  • Develop automation scripts for threat hunting and contribute to incident response as needed.
  • Perform penetration testing and threat and vulnerability assessments of applications, operating systems, and networks.
  • Research and evaluate cybersecurity threats, perform root cause analysis, and assist in designing and implementing security solutions.
  • Participate in security innovation projects and explore new ideas to advance cybersecurity capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a cybersecurity field.
  • Expertise in network routing and switching, network troubleshooting, engineering and infrastructure, load balancing, and virtual private networks.
  • Proficiency in cloud computing and security architecture, with hybrid and multi-cloud computing experience and familiarity with cloud-based services.
  • Familiar with vulnerability scanning, application security, penetration testing, encryption, threat modeling, identity and access management, and secure coding.
  • Good knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, incident response, security operations, vulnerability management, IT security architecture, risk management, cyber threat hunting, and cybersecurity standards.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Valid and current certifications or equivalent experience (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Certified Cloud Security Professional, GIAC Security Essentials).
  • Security Operations Center (SOC) experience.
  • Security tooling for Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • Anti-virus, vulnerability management, scanning and remediation.
  • Technical architecture skills and experience advising C-suite.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into agile development.
  • Familiarity with emerging security technologies and trends (e.g., AI/ML in security, zero trust, secure remote access).
