KYN is a brand-new care home company focused on offering an elevated approach to care: Individualised journeys built around the needs and interests of our residents in beautiful surroundings with life-enriching practices. KYN HURLINGHAM is our second home due to open in the first part of 2024. It’s a 32-bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining. About the opportunity
- As a Spa Therapist, you will be responsible for supporting the Life Enrichment and Wellbeing Lead in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere and consistently delivering an exceptional spa experience/treatment for our residents.
- Deliver a variety of spa services (e.g. manicures, pedicures, massages, and facials) to a high standard.
- Support the Life Enrichment and Wellbeing Lead/Life Enrichment and Wellbeing Co-ordinators in the implementation of a whole home approach to the provision of meaningful occupation for all residents, taking a proactive attitude towards the engagement of all residents at all times.
- Support residents with a range of diagnoses, including dementia, and deliver spa treatments for residents who are cared for in bed.
- Welcome, assist and handle residents’ queries and questions in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner.
- Provide recommendations and advice to our residents on treatments and products, including additional services such as holistic health.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and best practices are always maintained and that health and safety compliance and procedures are adhered to.
- Have excellent communication skills, product and service knowledge to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our residents.
- Care for equipment and use appropriate amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
- Schedule hairdresser appointments and liaise with relevant third parties.
- Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa and Life Enrichment Team.
- Support the team in leading life enriching activities and delivering hospitality services when needed.
- Work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision.
- Create a nurturing environment where our residents and their family members feel loved, happy, safe and secure.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments to ensure excellent quality and service.
- Perform prep work and restock as required.
- Undertake any administration and reception duties as requested, including liaising with residents and families to book spa treatments.
- Attend training when required.
- Be fully aware of and comply with rules and regulations.
- Act as a brand ambassador who demonstrates and leads the KYN values.
About you
- You will have experience of working within a beauty therapy venue.
- You will have NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy.
- You will be a professional, who understands the importance of delivering and maintaining high standards – keeping a safe, clean, and compliant environment.
- You will have strong communication skills, a cooperative and polite manner, and an eye for detail.
- You will be trustworthy, caring, adaptable, friendly, and patient and continually striving for excellence.
