KYN HURLINGHAM is our second home which opened in 2024. It's a 32‑bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining. We have a further two care homes in development in London.

About The Opportunity
As a Household Carer (Nights), you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Nurse and Household Care Lead in delivering the highest standards of person‑centred care to individuals who call a KYN residence their home whilst preserving their dignity, respect, and wellbeing
- Understanding personal care planning and taking responsibility for all aspects of care (e.g. infection control, moving and handling training)
- Ensuring the highest standard of individualised person‑centred care and attention is given to residents in the home
- Ensuring residents are treated with dignity, privacy, and respect at all times
- Promoting residents’ independence and respecting their choices and preferences as reflected in their care plan and through daily conversations
- Assisting residents with personal care for example, washing, dressing and assistance to use the toilet according to their individual abilities and care needs
- Undertaking minor medical duties which may include oral care, skin care (application of topical creams), catheter care and end‑of‑life care
- Ensuring, along with your team, that our residents’ medical, physical, social, and emotional needs are met
- Using medical equipment, including hoists, commodes, profiling beds and slide sheets
- Creating a nurturing environment where our residents and their family members feel loved, happy, safe, and secure
- Ensuring residents participate in any decisions about their care to promote an exceptional quality of life in a nurturing and beautiful environment
- Understanding personal care planning, including signs and symptoms of infections; how to assist with incontinence; awareness and reporting of swallowing difficulties
- Supporting residents at mealtimes; particularly those who require assistance
- Encouraging residents to participate in recreational activities and helping provide physical and mental stimulation
- Helping, supporting and developing new and less experienced Household Carers
- Attending clinical supervision sessions as arranged by the relevant Registered Nurse
- Maintaining the confidentiality of information regarding residents, visitors, and team members
- Attending and actively participating in team meetings
- Issuing a daily report to the person in charge at the end of each shift concerning the care delivered to your designated residents, noting any changes
- Promptly communicating any concerns that have been raised while working with the residents to the appropriate member of the senior team
- Providing a ‘warm welcome’ to all new residents, new team members and all visitors and familiarising them with the home
- Taking responsibility for all aspects of care (e.g., infection control, moving and handling training)
- Being responsible for the Health and Safety of self, other team members, residents and visitors under the Health and Safety regulations
- Promptly reporting any hazards or potential hazards to the person in charge or taking other appropriate actions within the remit of your training and knowledge
- Attending all statutory training sessions and any other relevant training sessions
- Adhering to all KYN’s policies and procedures
About You
- Experience working in a Health and Social Care setting
- Ideally, NVQ/QCF Diploma Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care
- Patience with the ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
- Effective team player who builds professional and trusting relationships with every member of the team, ensuring they feel valued
- Excellent attention to detail and an ability to anticipate problems before they arise
- Ability to resolve complaints and investigate and manage incidents effectively and efficiently
- Compassionate, empathetic, kind, and caring individual
- Flexibility to meet work requirements
