KYN is a brand-new care home company focused on offering an elevated approach to care: Individualised journeys built around the needs and interests of our residents in beautiful surroundings with life-enriching practices. Our first home, KYN BICKLEY, opened in February 2023. KYN BICKLEY is an 86-bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining; and inviting outdoor terraces overlooking landscaped gardens bordered by woodland. We have a further three care homes in development in London.
As a BANK Kitchen Assistant you will be responsible for:
- To undertake all kitchen assistant duties to the highest possible standard.
- To ensure high standards of cleanliness and best practices are always maintained throughout the kitchen.
- To be responsible for the operation of the plate and pot wash areas of the kitchen, ensuring all items are processed in a timely manner and to the KYN standard.
- Restock all cleaned items as necessary in the kitchen and employee areas to support the Chef’s in both food preparation and service.
- To ensure all rules and regulations for food health, allergens and hygiene are always adhered to.
- To recognise and report any situation which may affect the quality of service to the residents.
- To monitor health and safety, compliance, and procedures to ensure standards are maintained in both kitchen and dining teams.
- To maintain a clean and tidy appearance and work in an orderly manner in line with brand standards and legal requirements.
- To report all accidents and incidents to the Head/Sous Chef.
- To contribute toward the induction of new kitchen team members as required.
- As directed, to store food items and deliveries correctly and in rotation to minimise wastage using all company labelling and dating processes.
- To undertake the removal of waste from the kitchen, including delivery packaging, transport to the bin store and safely place in the appropriate bins.
- To complete opening/closing checklists daily.
- To comply with COSHH (Control of Substance Hazardous to Health) and Infection Control regulations.
- To support the Chefs to always take a proactive attitude towards the engagement of all residents.
- To participate in in-house training sessions and attend meetings when required by the Head/Sous Chef and/or Home Manager.
- To utilise all the resources within the kitchen effectively.
- To ensure the kitchen have adequate supplies of clean utensils, crockery, and other equipment.
- To comply with KYN’s uniform code whilst on duty.
- To always respond in a polite and professional manner to the residents and never enter a resident’s room without knocking.
- To be aware of the responsibilities for Health & Safety for all team members, residents, and visitors, reporting any accidents or potential hazards to the person in charge.
- To adhere to all KYN’s policies and procedures.
