KYN is a brand-new care home company focused on offering an elevated approach to care: Individualised journeys built around the needs and interests of our residents in beautiful surroundings with life-enriching practices. KYN BICKLEY is our first care home which opened in February 2023. Located in Bromley, KYN BICKLEY is an 86-bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining; and inviting outdoor terraces overlooking landscaped gardens bordered by woodland. We have a further three care homes in development in London. As Life Enrichment & Well-being Lead here at KYN you will be an essential part of the KYN Household, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere and consistently delivering an exceptional experience for our residents and their families. Supporting the team, you will deliver a wide range of activities, planning and researching various interests, hobbies and past times, on an individual basis, ensuring that every day is stimulating, exciting and enjoyable for residents.
Main Responsibilities
- Create and deliver a varied, inspiring programme of individual and group activities that enhance residents' wellâbeing
- Plan a rich calendar of events, including arts, music, movement, cultural experiences and trips within the local community and beyond
- Build strong partnerships with community groups, organisations and suppliers to broaden engagement opportunities
- Foster intergenerational and community links to support residents' sense of belonging and selfâesteem
- Continuously review and improve the life enrichment programme, measuring engagement and outcomes
- Work collaboratively to promote a wholeâhome approach to meaningful activity, with a focus on residents living with dementia
- Support residents in achieving personal goals and daily activities that promote independence and fulfilment
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with residents, understanding their interests and preferences
- Use your own skills and hobbies to create meaningful interactions and experiences
- Ensure residents are offered choice in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and make bestâinterest decisions where needed
- Encourage participation in activities while promoting positive riskâtaking
- Contribute to assessments of residents' abilities using a strengthsâbased approach
- Complete and oversee accurate activity and wellâbeing documentation
- Gather and act on feedback from residents, staff and external providers
- Communicate clearly and help resolve concerns promptly
- Lead, motivate and mentor your team, supporting new or less experienced colleagues
- Ensure high standards of health and safety for residents, colleagues and visitors
- Manage relationships with thirdâparty providers, ensuring quality, safety and appropriate insurance
- Manage the annual activities budget responsibly and negotiate supplier costs effectively

- You will have imagination and structure, as well as strong planning and organisation skills
- You will be a professional, who has proven track record of creating, designing, curating and organising events that stimulate and engage
- You will be a confident individual with a handsâon approach who will lead and inspire the team
- You will be an effective team player who builds professional and trusting relationships with every member of the team, ensuring they feel valued
- You will be patient with the ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
- You will have excellent attention to detail and an ability to anticipate problems before they arise
- You will be a compassionate, empathetic, kind, and caring individual
- You will have experience of working, and developing relationships, with a wide range of suppliers, along with the ability to negotiate effectively to ensure maximum value and experience for residents
- You will be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude to working arrangements as some weekend work will be required
