KYN is a brand-new care home company focused on offering an elevated approach to care: Individualised journeys built around the needs and interests of our residents in beautiful surroundings with life-enriching practices. KYN BICKLEY is our first care home opening in February 2023. Located in Bromley, KYN BICKLEY is an 86-bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining; and inviting outdoor terraces overlooking landscaped gardens bordered by woodland. We have a further three care homes in development in London.

About the opportunity
As a Head Nurse you will be responsible for:
- Leadership & Clinical Oversight
- Provide visible leadership, supporting staff in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care
- Manage the clinical team on the floor, ensuring skill mix and safe staffing
- Act as the point of escalation for complex clinical decisions
- Support and guide the nursing and care team with delivery of high-quality dementia and clinical excellence
- Care Planning & Risk Management
- Develop, monitor, and review individualised digital care plans ensuring they are dynamic and outcome focused
- Complete and maintain robust risk assessments, escalating appropriately
- Drive proactive care, identifying early deterioration and preventing avoidable hospital admissions
- Good knowledge of electronics and Emar systems
- Medicines Management
- Lead on daily medication room checks, ensuring compliance with policies and legal frameworks
- Oversee the administration, documentation, and storage of medicines
- Monitor and report on medication incidents, implementing learning and preventative measures
- Governance & Compliance
- Assist the Clinical Lead in implementing and monitoring clinical governance frameworks
- Conduct audits (care plans, medication, infection control, falls, etc.) and ensure timely action plans
- Support CQC/regulatory inspection readiness and service improvement
- People Management
- Line-manage nurses and care team members, including supervision, appraisal, and performance management
- Drive staff development through training, coaching, and mentoring
- Manage rotas effectively to ensure safe, consistent staffing
- To adhere to all KYN's policies and procedures
- Acting as a brand ambassador who demonstrates and leads the KYN values
About you
Essential Experience
- Registered Nurse with active NMC PIN
- Previous management experience within a complex care unit (e.g., dementia, nursing, or high-acuity care)
- Proven track record of leading large multidisciplinary teams (15+ staff desirable)
- Strong background in clinical risk management, governance, and regulatory compliance
- Experience in creating and auditing person-centred care plans and ensuring compliance with CQC (or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience in safe medicines management, daily medication audits, and staff competency assessments
Desirable Skills & Attributes
- Postgraduate qualification or additional training in leadership/management
- Experience in change management and service development
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
