About Us

Women at the Well is a trauma-informed, woman-centered support service based in King’s Cross. For over twenty years, we have provided practical support and advocacy to women facing multiple disadvantages, with a deep specialism in supporting those affected by prostitution and sexual exploitation. Our mission is to work toward the abolition of these harms while empowering every woman to achieve her full potential, free from discrimination.

The Role

We are seeking our first in-house Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to secure a sustainable future for our vital services. This is a strategic yet "hands‑on" senior role, perfect for a values‑driven fundraiser who can take full ownership of income generation. Working closely with our CEO, you will develop and deliver a multi-stream fundraising strategy encompassing trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, individual philanthropy, and community engagement. You will be instrumental in crafting compelling, trauma-informed cases for support that respect the dignity and lived experiences of the women we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Leadership: Lead the development of a clear fundraising strategy to strengthen financial sustainability and replenish reserves.
  • Income Generation: Manage the full lifecycle of grants from trusts and foundations, from research to reporting.
  • Partnership Building: Leverage our unique King’s Cross location to build long-term, values-aligned relationships with local businesses, global companies, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Communications: Produce ethical, trauma-informed fundraising communications, including impact stories and appeals.
  • Systems Management: Oversee fundraising tracking, pipeline management, and the development of our CRM.

About You

You are a motivated, self-directed professional with significant experience across multiple income streams.

You Bring

  • Excellent written communication skills and a track record of securing high-value funding.
  • Emotional resilience and the sound judgment required to work in an environment shaped by trauma and inequality.
  • A commitment to women's equality and anti-racism, with respect for our guiding principles rooted in Catholic Social Teaching (dignity, respect, solidarity, and hope).
  • The ability to work collaboratively with frontline caseworkers to ensure fundraising remains grounded in women's needs.

25 days annual leave + bank holidays. Investment in your professional development. A friendly, collaborative, and purpose‑led team culture.
