Junior Resource and Demand Planning Analyst in Cheshire, Warrington

Reporting to the Resource & Demand Planning Manager, the Junior Resource & Demand Planning Analyst combines day-to-day resource planning with data analysis, reporting and practical AI automation across Kwik Fit Mobile. The role helps ensure technician and van capacity meets customer demand, while improving the information and processes used to make planning decisions.

Working closely with the Resource & Demand Planning Team, operations and service teams, the role develops Power BI dashboards, Python analysis, and automated workflows to improve forecasting, utilisation, and efficiency. The role also provides practical technical support and guidance to the AI Data Analyst, sharing knowledge and reviewing solutions to deliver accurate, reliable and actionable insights.

This permanent role is based upon 40hrs/week, which after a successful training and induction period will operate on a hybrid basis to include 2-3 days onsite at our offices in Warrington.

The Day to Day

• Support the Resource & Demand Planning Team with daily planning activities, following agreed processes and priorities set by the Manager.
• Identify key metrics that will drive the long-term health of the business.
• Maintain accurate information, including technician availability, planned and unplanned absences, van availability and geographical working areas.
• Monitor demand against available capacity, identify shortages or underutilisation, and support adjustments and geographical coverage.
• Constantly challenge own assumptions, as well as those of the business.
• Assess the capacity impact of annual leave, shift patterns and vehicle downtime, escalating risks to the Resource & Demand Planning Team and Manager.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business.
• Maintain regular communication with operational teams on resource changes, capacity constraints and potential service issues.
• Support in developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports showing demand, capacity, utilisation, trends and risks, with guidance from the AI Data Analyst.
• Support in using Python to prepare and analyse operational data, update existing scripts and assist with recurring reporting tasks, with guidance from the AI Data Analyst.
• Support in developing, testing and maintaining AI-enabled automation alongside the AI Data Analyst, helping reduce manual planning administration and reporting.
• Support in checking reports and automated outputs against source data, help translate findings into practical resource planning recommendations.
• Report to Line Manager and/or escalate to any other appropriate manager areas of concern, anomalies, or non-compliant aspects are found.
• Handle company data confidentially and in line with company data protection and security requirements; escalate data anomalies, operational risks and areas of concern to the Manager.
• Undertaking any other duties which may be requested by Management, for which training and/or an explanation has been provided and understood.

Who we're looking for

• Familiarity of resource planning, demand planning or operational scheduling, with the ability to maintain accurate information and respond to changing capacity requirements.
• Working knowledge of Power BI and the ability to support in updating, checking and maintaining dashboards and reports, with guidance.
• Practical knowledge of Python and the ability to support in data preparation and script updates, with guidance.
• Familiarity with AI tools and some practical experience using them for work or projects, with the ability to support in testing and maintaining automation under guidance.
• Strong ability to interpret operational data, identify trends and explain findings clearly.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Resource & Demand Planning Team, contributing practical planning support and developing technical skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a logical approach.
• Confident communicator who can translate technical information into clear operational recommendations.
• Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to prioritise day-to-day planning support while progressing agreed tasks under the Manager's direction.
• Commercial and customer awareness, with a focus on improving resource utilisation, service performance and efficiency.
• Relevant training or demonstrable experience in resource planning, data analysis, reporting, or a similar operational environment.
