KwickScreen is challenging the status quo in healthcare. Since our founding in 2009, we have grown from a university project startup, focused on reducing the spread of hospital-acquired infections, into a leading global supplier of privacy screens. We are on a mission to create a safe space for every patient. Our portable, retractable screens allow hospitals to reduce the spread of infections, increase their bed capacity and give patients privacy & dignity. Our screens are already in every single NHS Trust in the UK and in hospitals around the world.

This role calls for a person who has a keen eye and passion for creating products that provide solutions to real life problems. It will suit someone who is adept at thinking both creatively and logically, who enjoys ‘making things’ and who loves to challenge themselves.
Responsibilities:
- Designing new products
- Solving issues with our existing products, and coming up with ways to improve them
- Conducting initial research into new designs/problem solving modifications
- Constructing and testing prototypes and making the necessary modifications as testing progresses
- Assessing our product requirements including manufacturing feasibility, cost and saleability
- Determining materials, equipment and manufacturing processes used in the production of our products
Requirements:
- MEng degree or 4 year Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 years experience using Solidworks/OnShape
- Prototyping/Fabrication Skills
- A high level of proficiency in ‘making things’, including experience with some of the following (metal work, wood work, welding, sewing, 3D printing, using CNC equipment)
- Able to communicate ideas effectively and work well in a team
- Proven ability to work against extremely tight deadlines in a hands-on role
25 holiday days (with the option to buy back 5 more + bank holidays)
