Organizational Structure
This role reports to the Communications and Events Coordinator, Student Services.

Summary
The Student Ambassador is an integral part of Student Services and enhances the KPU student experience with prospective and current students and community members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with students and campus visitors for wayfinding and referral to services.
  • Provide knowledgeable, timely, and professional customer service.
  • Develop and maintain detailed records of engagements.
  • Assist with content for divisional social media accounts.
  • Assist with event planning, setup, coordination, and logistics.
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing communication and marketing materials.

Qualifications

  • Good academic standing.
  • Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in communications, marketing, and/or a related field is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Familiar with common social media platforms.
  • Reliable, responsible, and professional with a customer-service mindset.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to effectively multi-task.
  • Sensitive to the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Available to work across all KPU campuses as needed.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Salary Information
Student Assistants are paid as per the following:
Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) – BC Minimum Wage
One year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) – BC Minimum Wage plus 8%
With a post-secondary diploma or degree – BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
