As a Registered Mental Health Nurse at K&W Healthcare Ltd, you will play a pivotal role within a multidisciplinary team in assessing, planning and delivering individualized care to patients with diverse mental health conditions. Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure the highest standards of care are maintained, promoting recovery and enhancing the quality of life for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake holistic assessments of patients' health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to assess and use sound clinical knowledge.
- Develop, implement and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and the multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor therapeutic response to prescribed medications and monitor their effectiveness, adhering to prescribed protocols.
- Mental Health Assessments: Clinicians should have experience in completing mental health assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions in community settings.
- Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in regular team meetings, contributing to care planning and service development.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant policies, procedures and legislation, including the Mental Health Act.
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision and evidence-based care in a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification with a valid NMC registration.
- Minimum of 2-year post-registration experience in a mental health setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of current mental health legislation and best practices.
- Certification in Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA) or Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA).
- Experience in specialised areas such as eating disorders, addictions or child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).
- Community experience in mental health services for adults and older age adults with severe/significant mental illness.
- V300 non-medical prescribing.
