Our client was established in 1958 to provide care and support for Kuwaiti students and to foster and enhance Kuwaiti-British academic, research and cultural relations. Their goal is to provide students with development opportunities, through empowerment, support and collaboration with accredited institutions in the UK. They aim to provide the best experience for everyone involved on a personal, social and professional level.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • BSc degree in accounting/finance preferably from a UK University
  • Post graduate degree or professional qualification (AAT/ACCA) will be an advantage
  • Relevant work experience in the UK is preferable
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of financial applications such as Sage 200 is preferred
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate across all levels
  • Full Right to Work in the UK

What will your role as an Accountant look like?

  • Student’s monthly and ongoing weekly allowances entitlements
  • Posting financial information into the accounting system
  • Preparation of student’s cheques and BACS payment
  • Communication with other departments within the office
  • Responding to the sponsor’s financial queries
  • Responding to other stakeholder’s financial queries
  • Preparation of statements of accounts
  • Reconciliation of sponsor’s bank accounts
  • Month end reporting of expenditure
  • Assist the accounts manager with the sponsor’s annual budget setting
  • Filing documents and any other ad hoc requested by the accounts manager
