Kuvare Services Bermuda Ltd. (“KSB”), a Bermuda based service provider to affiliated and regulated Bermuda-domiciled long-term reinsurers, is seeking a Finance Manager to be a key member of the finance team.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Financial Controller, the successful applicant will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day finance, accounting and statutory reporting functions, and operations of Kindley Re Ltd. (“Kindley”), a Bermuda‑domiciled Class E licensed long‑term reinsurer operating as a sidecar sponsored by Davidson Kempner (“DK”) and supported by KSB, ensuring delivery of timely, complete and accurate reporting to all stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting and finance activities of Kindley and affiliates.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual management accounts, US GAAP financial statements and Bermuda statutory filings for the Company and Class E entities in accordance with BMA requirements.
  • Support reinsurance accounting for life and annuity treaties, including settlements, reserves, and collateral monitoring.
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual financial close process and reconciliations to meet internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Review of monthly reinsurance settlements and monitor transaction reporting deadlines and investment compliance.
  • Prepare and present financial reporting, management reports, variance analyses, and board‑ready financial summaries and insights in discussions with management and committees.
  • Oversee investor level reporting, measure results against established key metrics to provide insight into reinsurance and investment results, capital forecasts and planning.
  • Design and implement financial/statutory reporting and internal control policies and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain financial accounting, investment accounting and risk systems.
  • Liaise with internal and external actuarial resources, coordinate the year-end external audit and liaise with the BMA on day-to-day operational matters as required.
  • Support and provide oversight to various areas of operations and other ad hoc projects as required.

Qualifications

  • An internationally recognized professional accounting designation with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Bermuda life reinsurance industry, either as a service provider or working directly for a life insurer/reinsurer, including a minimum of 2 years in public accounting.
  • Working experience and knowledge of fixed and variable annuities and other life products and their accounting under US GAAP, including associated deal structures (i.e. coinsurance, modified coinsurance, funds withheld).
  • Knowledge of new US GAAP LDTI rules a strong plus.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, US Statutory and BMA reporting; including experience completing Capital and Solvency Returns for a life (re)insurance company under the current BSCR/EBS regime.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness and capacity to work long hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays and on short notice is essential.
