We are involved in several nuclear projects, including FA3 EPR (France), the French fleet, Taishan EPR (China), Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C. SUITABLE CANDIDATE
You enjoy analysing concrete problems, finding solutions and then setting them up. Getting involved in significant industrial and engineering projects involving very demanding precautions as regards industrial safety captivates you. THE ROLE
You will support Lifting and Access equipment contracts. The contracts include Airlocks, equipment hatches, cranes, lifts trolleys and hoists. This is a valuable and technically stimulating opportunity to support a project which is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As Technical Lead, you will provide technical oversight of the contract(s), including the surveillance of technical documentations, the management and the resolution of open-points and changes related to Design, Manufacturing and Qualification. You will also be responsible for keeping the contract at the configuration compliant with the project progress.
In order to do this, you will work closely with the relevant disciplines included in the project but also within the client and the suppliers to ensure the technical requirements are met. You will be in charge of the following activities:
- Leading technical meetings.
- Technical surveillance and resolution of issues/queries.
- Reviewing and approving design where necessary.
- Reviewing non-conformances and exemption requests, open points, design changes.
- Control and Management of the evolution of the contract and design changes.
- Reviewing and approving contract amendments and exemptions (CTSs, ERs).
- Liaising with RD and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions/systems.
- Liaising with RD and client management teams to communicate progress, risks, issues and planning to support contract delivery.
- Reporting of KPIs to the CEL.
- Ensuring qualification activities are progressing according to the contract progress and site needs.
- Help to upskill other members of the team, including other less experienced TLs.
- Technical assessment of the tenders in the aspects of design, qualification and manufacturing.
During the first months, you can count on the KURY Team to assist you all along your projects. This experience will give you the opportunity to move on to other types of equipment or projects in the medium term: you will tackle varied but complementary projects, studies and technical topics. Your understanding of the technical and environmental challenges will allow you to take on complex and critical transversal studies.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Understanding of the EPR or general PWR design.
- Knowledge and experience in Nuclear Mechanical Equipment Design, Manufacture and Operations.
- Technical background on handling equipment such as: cranes, mechanical equipment, rotating equipment, steelwork design, lift design.
- Understanding of Equipment interfaces (safety case, systems engineering, civil interfaces).
- Contract management and document review experience.
- Experience using change-management, commercial and deliverable management systems (UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, Teamcenter) is an advantage.
- IT literate.
- French-speaking would be an advantage.
