KURY UK Ltd is part of an international company, Kury Groupe, 100% dedicated to the nuclear field with 23 years of experience in nuclear engineering. We have been working with EDF (French Electricity Producer) and are involved in several nuclear projects, including FA3 EPR (France), the French fleet, Taishan EPR (China), Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C. We are now looking for engineers to join our team in the UK. Our human-sized structure (100 employees worldwide) allows us to devote ourselves to mentoring and training our engineers. SUITABLE CANDIDATE
You enjoy analysing concrete problems, finding solutions and then setting them up. Getting involved in significant industrial and engineering projects involving very demanding precautions regarding industrial safety captivates you. Your good analytical skills, sense of logic, aptitude for synthesising and your scientific knowledge will allow you to adapt quickly to multi-system environments. You have the ability to adapt to new technical problems. You know how to manage a small-sized team. You like the idea of working on projects and quality matters to you. You are a good team player.
THE ROLE
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the following activities:
- Through activities related to System design and system integration: Proposal of technical solutions to improve design maturity. Produce, review and update the system documentation, as well as formulate the electrical, nuclear safety, and control logic requirements in compliance with the engineering rules, methodologies, quality processes, and tools. Monitoring and resolution of design Open Points and design non-conformances in the Electrical discipline. Analysis and verification of input data, requirements, and lessons learnt from other stations. Sizing of components e.g. Transformers, switchboards, cables, protections, Power balance calculation, selectivity studies. Support the procurement team in formulation of technical specification and supplier surveillance.
- Through activities related to technical reports and other technical documentation: Ensuring technical content provided in compliance with the quality process and engineering guidelines. Reporting to the Electrical Discipline Lead and raising alerts on any aspects of design. Being part of the relevant electrical team, participating in team meetings, sharing and advising on technical topics. Solve technically challenging and multi-disciplinary issues.
- Through activities related to Modification and configuration management: Managing requests for modification to system(s) issued by various external parties by producing specifications and following the engineering cycle.
