About the role:

We are currently recruiting for a Welder/Fitter to join our busy manufacturing department, due to ongoing customer demands! This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled team, who work on precise, detailed custom build projects.

Working mainly with Stainless Steel, you will be required to layout, cut, fit, and tack various assemblies using the TIG process, verify that the fabrications meet required quality inspection reports and then fully weld. You will be working within very fine tolerances and as the ideal candidate, you will have experience fabricating within measurements of +/- 0.2mm.

Shift Options:

  • Day Shift: Monday – Thursday 08.00am – 5.00pm and Friday 08.00am – 14.30pm (40 hours)
  • Evening Shift: Monday – Thursday 13.30pm – 00.00am (40 hours)

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have previous experience welding within fine tolerances and fabricating within +/- 0.2mm
  • Worked with various materials such as Mu Metal, Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Copper
  • Know the vacuum technology industry (preferred not required)
  • Have an established skillset in fabrication and welding including the use of specific and accurate measuring tools
  • Ability to read detailed technical mechanical drawings
  • Have a positive attitude and be able to maintain professional, high-quality working relationships with all members of the company globally
  • Happy to maintain and promote a safe and clean work environment

Qualifications:

  • Required ONC/HNC (Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Technology) or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Advanced understanding of mathematics, and the ability to read mechanical drawings.
  • Proven experience of TIG welding process, assembling Vacuum Chambers or related Components.
  • Previous experience welding within fine tolerances and fabricating within +/- 0.2mm and working with other materials would be a benefit.
