About the role
We are looking for a CNC Programmer/Operator to join us at the Kurt J. Lesker Company at our European headquarters based in St. Leonards, East Sussex. If you’re passionate about CNC machining, experienced in both CNC and manual turning operations, and eager to advance your career with a company that champions excellence and collaboration — we’d love to hear from you.
The fixed working pattern for this position is Monday – Thursday 08.00am – 5.00pm and Friday 08.00am – 14.30pm.

We’d love to hear from you if you:
- have experience setting workpieces and running direct and remote programs on both horizontal and vertical CNC turning machines
- are skilled in operating lathes and performing manual turning, demonstrating experience in traditional machining techniques and precision metalworking
- are competent in programming bespoke designs using CAM software
- know the vacuum technology industry (preferred, not required)
- have a positive attitude and maintain professional, high‑quality working relationships with all members of the company globally
- can read detailed technical mechanical drawings
- are happy to maintain and promote a safe and clean work environment
Qualifications Required:
- ONC/HNC (Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Technology) or equivalent experience in a related field
- Proven machining experience on CNC equipment or using CNC solid modeling (turning)
- Delcam or MasterCam programming experience
- Extensive knowledge of machine functions (G code, M code, Offsets, etc…)
Preferred:
- Lean manufacturing experience
