Kura is delighted to be recruiting for a sustainability-focused technology company on a mission to make it easier for businesses and consumers to make environmentally responsible choices. We’re expanding our Belfast Software Lab as we build a new mobile team to enhance our digital experience.

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Mobile Developer to play a key role in shaping the direction of our mobile platform. You’ll lead the technical strategy and delivery of a major app redesign, transitioning from our existing Xamarin-based applications to a modern Flutter-powered architecture. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide the rebuild from the ground up, define best practices for cross-platform development, and mentor a small but growing team of mobile engineers.

Your role will entail:

  • Lead the mobile technology strategy, architecture, and implementation for the company’s next-generation apps.
  • Drive the migration from Xamarin to Flutter, ensuring smooth transition and performance parity across Android and iOS.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams to define roadmap priorities and deliver scalable, sustainable solutions.
  • Establish engineering standards, code quality processes, and CI/CD practices for mobile.
  • Hire, mentor, and grow a talented team of mobile engineers in Belfast.
  • Stay ahead of emerging frameworks, SDKs, and cross-platform trends — ensuring the mobile stack remains modern, efficient, and secure.
  • Champion accessibility, sustainability, and user impact in all mobile experiences.

What we’re seeking:

  • A mobile whiz with deep-rooted experience in mobile app development, with knowledge of both Android and iOS ecosystems.
  • Proven experience building and deploying cross-platform apps - ideally with Flutter, and familiarity with Xamarin a strong plus.
  • Hands-on expertise in Dart, Kotlin/Swift, and modern mobile design patterns (e.g. MVVM, Bloc, Riverpod, or similar).
  • Strong architectural design skills — experience defining app structure, state management, and API integration patterns.
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers, setting technical direction, and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • A passion for building impactful, user-centric products.

Why Join:

  • Be part of a purpose-led company using technology to create measurable environmental impact.
  • Shape the future of the company’s mobile platform from its early stages.
  • Build and lead a new mobile engineering hub in Belfast.
  • Competitive salary, flexible hybrid working, and the opportunity to make a real difference.
