Class Assistant

Job Overview

As a class assistant, your primary focus is to support the Centre\’s main objective of delivering a positive learning experience for every student in every class. You will achieve this by collaborating with the Instructor to ensure the smooth, efficient, and professional operation of the class. A commitment to the well‑being of all students attending the centre is crucial, along with a high degree of professionalism and patience, compassion, and a genuine interest for working with young children.

Responsibilities

Your duties and responsibilities, which are not exhaustive and subject to regular review, include setting up and clearing down the classroom promptly, accurately marking and recording student work, providing a professional reception service for the centre when required, adhering to and promoting all policies and procedures, carrying out any reasonable duties as requested by the Instructor and Centre Manager. Must have a very good standard of English and mathematics.

Requirements

Must be available to work all class days (Due to the nature of the class, finishing times are approximate and may vary):

• Tuesday 3:15 – 6:00 PM
• Friday 3:15 – 6:00 PM
• Saturday 8:45 – 11:30 AM

Please note: all successful applicants will be subject to PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Group) scheme check. Please note: seeking adults (over 18\’s) only.

Qualifications

• National 5 in maths and English or equivalent (preferred)
• Early childhood education (preferred)
• Strong communication skills to interact with children and colleagues effectively
• Passion for educating and nurturing young minds

Job Details

• Job Type: Zero hours contract
• Pay: Up to 12.50 per hour
• Expected hours: 8.75 – 9 per week
