Colas Ltd. are looking for a Technology Services Technician to be based at the Longbridge depot, CV35 8AA. You will be a part of the Area 9 Maintenance & Response contract with Colas, working on behalf of National Highways. You will deliver both cyclical and reactive works and will be responsible for safeguarding the welfare and health and safety of yourself and those working around you. You will take an active role in ensuring your own skills and knowledge are up to date and fit for purpose.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities.
  • Deliver technology cyclical works and response over the course of your shift.
  • Report directly to the Technology supervisor on health and safety and progress during shifts.
  • Report to Technology Manager / Supervisor on activities undertaken during shifts.
  • Use a range of hand & power tools and operate items of plant, including Hiab and MEWP.
  • Perform other duties as may be reasonably requested.

Predominantly working Monday to Friday day shift with night shifts as required. The successful applicant will ensure all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact.

Ideal Candidate

  • Similar experience within Highways or from an electrical background is preferred.
  • Open to individuals who are willing to learn and pursue a long-term career and progression within this field of work.
  • A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Forward thinking, a good communicator and hardworking.
  • Desire to work collaboratively to find the root cause of issues and deliver a proactive maintenance approach.

Package Description

Here at Colas, we offer a great total compensation package, including:

  • A salary between £32,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience and licences).
  • Uplifts for night shifts and overtime paid at time and a half.
  • 45 hour week Mon - Fri.
  • Colas Pension Scheme with combined contributions of up to 10%.
