Colas Continental Bitumen UK are seeking a motivated Terminal Operative to join our busy Avonmouth Docks depot. This is a great opportunity for those with an industrial background or anyone keen to develop practical skills in a hands-on role. You’ll be responsible for operating pumps and handling terminal activities at our Bitumen facility, always ensuring strict safety and quality standards. Full training is provided, making this ideal for both experienced candidates and those new to the field. You will work a 45-hour rotating shift pattern between 4:00am and 7:00pm, including some weekends. The role offers a salary of £25,000 – £30,000 plus a 33% shift allowance.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the Depot Manager in ensuring the safe and efficient storage and supply of bitumen at Avonmouth Depot.
- Attach hoses and load bitumen into customer tankers.
- Accurately operate computer systems.
- Assist with site maintenance while following all safety procedures and site-specific risk assessments.
- Build strong working relationships with site personnel.
- Attend safety briefings and inductions.
- Complete required paperwork.
- Be flexible in supporting additional tasks as needed.
Full training will be provided to develop your skills and ensure compliance with all company procedures.
