The role

Are you a tyre sales professional who knows the independents, fast-fits and fleets on your patch, and wants a brand behind you with the range and support to grow them?

Kumho Tyre UK is looking for an Area Sales Manager to own a territory, win new business and grow our share of the UK replacement market.

Reporting to the Sales Director, you will develop customer relationships, grow sales and margin, and deliver your KPI targets across your area.

What you’ll do

  • Win new business with independent dealers, retailers, fast-fit, motor trade and fleet customers
  • Grow existing accounts through range development, stocking agreements and sell-through support
  • Deliver territory sales volume and margin targets in line with Kumho’s sales policies
  • Ensure full commercial coverage of accounts supplied through our local warehouse network
  • Work with the Sales Director on account development and, when directed, manage key accounts
  • Keep the CRM up to date and provide regular sales forecasts and activity reports
  • Represent Kumho at customer meetings, trade shows and industry events

What you’ll bring

  • Proven field sales experience in the tyre industry, with a track record of hitting or beating targets
  • A good understanding of the UK tyre market and its channels
  • Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivation and the organisation to manage your own diary and territory
  • Confidence with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel, including overnight stays

What we offer

  • Competitive salary, depending on experience
  • Performance-based incentive scheme
  • Company car, mobile phone and laptop
  • Subsidised gym membership

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in field sales or account management, ideally within automotive, tyres, or related industries.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence key decision-makers.
  • Solid commercial awareness, including territory management, pipeline development, and meeting sales targets.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Competence in using CRM systems, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and basic reporting tools.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned area.
  • Relevant education or training in business, sales, or a related field is beneficial; prior experience with national key accounts is an advantage.
