The Facilities Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity, safety, and functionality of all building systems within a residential apartment complex. This role performs hands-on maintenance and repairs of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building systems to ensure a comfortable, well-maintained living environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of residential building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, fire safety).
  • Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and work orders, ensuring timely and professional service.
  • Diagnose and repair issues in apartment units and common areas, including lighting, locks, appliances, and fixtures.
  • Conduct unit turnovers, including painting, cleaning, minor repairs, and appliance testing.
  • Assist with groundskeeping, snow removal, and seasonal tasks as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized work (e.g., elevators, roofing, pest control).
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and maintenance logs.
  • Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in Facility Management (FM) and Preventive Maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Building Maintenance, including Plumbing and Carpentry, decorating skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Experience in a hospitality or residential setting is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in maintenance or facilities management are advantageous.
