Established with roots tracing back to 1979 and officially founded in 1999, Kukri Sports is an international, premium sportswear brand specialising in bespoke multi-sport teamwear for over 100 sports. From grassroots clubs and schools to elite international teams and educational institutions, we empower athletes to represent their identity with pride. Guided by our core values - Passion, Ambition, Professionalism, and Inclusivity - we are more than just a sports brand; we help athletes and partners build their own sporting legacy.
We are looking for an energetic, creative, and data-driven Marketing Manager to lead our marketing operations and elevate the Kukri brand across global markets. In this role, you will drive our mission to lead the custom multi-sport teamwear sector. You will be responsible for driving multi-channel marketing strategies that resonate with schools, universities, grassroots clubs, and elite sports partners alike. The ideal candidate blends a deep appreciation for sports culture with sharp digital marketing expertise, executing campaigns that highlight our commitment to quality, bespoke design, and inclusive physical activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Strategy & Campaign Management: Develop and execute global and regional marketing strategies that reinforce Kukri's position as a leader in bespoke teamwear. Lead multi-channel campaigns (digital, social, PR, and experiential) around key sporting events, product launches, and institutional partnerships. Act as a brand custodian, ensuring all communications consistently reflect Kukri’s core values (Passion, Ambition, Professionalism, Inclusivity) and empower athletes of all ages and abilities.
- Digital & Content Marketing: Oversee the digital roadmap—optimizing SEO, paid search (PPC), paid social, and email automation to drive inbound leads for our bespoke teamwear lines. Collaborate with internal creative resources and external partners to produce high-impact storytelling content (video campaigns, case studies, athlete/club spotlights). Manage website performance, user experience, and content updates to maximise conversion rates across e-commerce and institutional inquiry funnels.
- Partnership & Sector Marketing: Support high-profile partnerships across elite sports teams, national governing bodies, and the educational sports sector (schools and universities). Create tailored marketing toolkits, collateral, and activation plans for partner clubs to maximise fan engagement and kit rollout success.
- Analytics, Budgeting & Performance: Monitor, analyse, and report on key marketing metrics (ROI, CAC, conversion paths, campaign reach) using tools like Google Analytics and CRM dashboards. Manage and optimise the annual marketing budget to ensure high-return investments across target territories.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of marketing experience, ideally within the sportswear, apparel, retail, B2B/B2C teamwear, or sports-tech industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience / CIM qualification).
- Technical Competencies: Proven track record managing end-to-end campaigns; hands-on experience with marketing automation (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp), CRM systems, SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, GA4, and CMS platforms.
- Cultural Fit & Soft Skills: A genuine passion for sport and an understanding of the athlete journey (grassroots to elite performance). Exceptional project management, organisational abilities, and a collaborative spirit.
- Travel: Willingness to attend national and international meetings with partners, events and exhibitions to represent the brand.
Desirable Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience marketing directly to educational institutions (schools, colleges, universities) or sports clubs.
- Basic graphic design or video editing capabilities (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva) for rapid asset creation.
- Experience scaling campaigns across international markets (e.g., UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Dubai and Canada).
