Hey! We’re Kukoon, and we’re scaling fast. This isn’t your standard bean-counting finance role, it’s about helping us build a finance function that can keep pace with a £20m business on its way to £50m.
You’ll be in a small team working directly with our Financial Controller, and you\’ll be the go-to person when numbers don’t add up, and the detail-spotter who keeps us sharp. Some days you’ll be handling invoices and payments, others you’ll be digging into projects, grants, and automations that change the way we work. If you love spotting patterns, improving systems, and getting a kick out of a perfectly balanced reconciliation, you’ll fit right in.
What you’ll actually be doing
- Keeping the lights on (and the cash flowing): invoices, payments, payroll, expenses – you’ll own the details and make sure everyone gets paid (and paid on time!)
- Being everyone’s finance hero: suppliers, customers, and colleagues will come to you for answers (and you’ll have them).
- Grant funding & projects: from grant funding applications to audits and automations, you’ll make sure we’re grabbing every opportunity to grow and improve.
- Smarter systems, less faff: helping us automate, streamline, and turn spreadsheets into Power BI magic.
- Audits, compliance & board reporting: the detail that makes big decisions possible.
- Random curveballs: whether it’s jumping in on a particular analysis or supporting a report with accurate data, no two weeks look the same at Kukoon!
Requirements
- AAT qualified or part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/CAI), or has similar hands-on experience.
- Experienced in transactional finance or finance operations (ideally 2+ years).
- Confident with Excel and cloud-based finance tools (bonus points if you’ve dabbled in automation).
- Obsessed with the details – you spot errors others might miss.
- Organised, proactive, and always looking for better ways to work.
- Comfortable juggling priorities and keeping things moving.
What do we offer in return?
- 4 day working week, 6 months per year! Have every Friday off between April and October without using any Annual Leave!
- A fast-paced digital-first company that thrives on continually improving
- Electric Car onsite charging
- Enhanced Maternity Pay
- Generous staff discount – and we mean HUGE!
- Great working culture that values people who work hard, achieve results and like to have a bit of craic doing it
