Responsibilities:
- The Electrical Controls Engineer will oversee the production of many types of complex systems and equipment.
- They will work closely alongside the production and manufacturing departments and provide technical support as required.
- They will be familiar with specifying drive controls systems, industrial PCs, safety PLCs and safety related parts of controls systems and inverters.
- Prepare and configure standard and custom wiring drawings & BOMs.
- Ensure compliance with all design, regulatory and test requirements and be knowledgeable with AutoCAD Mech/Elec/Eplan and Microsoft software packages.
- Ensure completion of design work, drawing creation, calculations and technical documentation.
- Work with suppliers to ensure projects meet performance requirements.
- Provide technical support and best practice with respect to industrial panel design.
- Ensure compliance with design & test requirements.
- Develop test rigs, models and prototype control systems.
- Generate Safety Buy Off documents.
- Create calculations to BS EN 13849 and have a good understanding of 60204.
What you need to succeed:
- A HNC/HND or degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with automation, product handling or special purpose machinery and experience in a design engineering role.
- Working understanding of wiring diagrams and control packages.
- Experience in the use of AutoCAD Mech/Elec/Eplan and Microsoft software packages.
- Your background will be in the nuclear industry, robotics, automation, machine tool, hydraulics & pneumatic systems.
