As part of the Contract Logistics team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in designing, managing, and optimizing solutions that keep goods moving efficiently. Are you passionate about driving excellence in compliance, quality, safety, health and environmental standards within a critical Government and Defence operation? As our QSHE Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring contractual, legislative and policy compliance across a significant logistics programme. Working closely with operational and support teams, you will provide assurance, governance and expert guidance to maintain the highest standards of performance and compliance. This is a unique opportunity to influence strategic outcomes, safeguard operational integrity, and contribute to a contract that supports vital Defence capabilities.

How you create impact

  • Lead the management and implementation of contractual compliance requirements, ensuring alignment with operational delivery and business objectives.
  • Monitor regulatory, contractual and policy changes, assessing impacts and driving effective implementation across the contract.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for QSHE compliance, providing guidance and assurance to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Maintain and enhance compliance frameworks, registers and management systems to support governance and operational excellence.
  • Lead quality reviews of policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance.
  • Represent QSHE within internal and customer working groups, building strong partnerships and influencing positive outcomes.
  • Manage change control processes, ensuring QSHE risks, impacts and opportunities are identified and effectively managed.
  • Support compliance with legal, environmental and information governance requirements, including GDPR and ISO standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement through audits, data analysis, reporting and the identification of trends and best practices.
  • Champion a positive QSHE culture by leading initiatives, supporting business objectives and promoting safe, sustainable and compliant ways of working.

What we would like you to bring

  • Experience working within quality, safety, health, environmental or compliance management systems, ideally aligned to ISO 9001, 14001 and/or 45001 standards.
  • Audit experience, with a recognised audit qualification or a willingness to gain one.
  • Knowledge of contract management, governance or compliance within a complex operational environment.
  • Experience supporting and implementing change initiatives while maintaining compliance and operational excellence.
  • Strong understanding of Integrated Management Systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and planning skills, coupled with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
  • Resilience, adaptability and a solutions-focused mindset, with the confidence to navigate change and competing priorities.
  • Experience within logistics, defence, aviation, automotive or other highly regulated sectors would be advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence is required.
