Overview
In this role you will lead the end-to-end import/export operation for time-sensitive healthcare shipments at London Heathrow, ensuring compliance and high service quality. You will coach the Import & Export teams, partner with carriers and service providers, and drive safety and continuous improvement. The role combines regulatory oversight with operational leadership in a fast-paced environment, shaping healthcare logistics on a global scale. You will impact customer outcomes by delivering reliable, compliant, and efficient logistics solutions.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end import/export operations, ensuring compliance with customs, procedures and trade laws
- Monitor shipment schedules and coordinate communication during disruptions
- Conduct bi-weekly compliance audits (HS codes, EORI, Incoterms)
- Act as backup for HMRC+E and AEO matters to maintain regulatory continuity
- Build partnerships with carriers, ground handlers, and service providers to improve performance
- Manage staffing, overtime, and resources to protect gross profit targets
- Analyze productivity data to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements
- Promote a culture of safety, QSHE awareness, and proactive reporting
Key requirements
- 5+ years in Air Logistics, courier operations, or time-critical/temperature-sensitive supply chains
- Proven leadership to motivate and develop teams in fast-paced environments
- Broad knowledge of air logistics processes including healthcare handling requirements
- Strong planning, organisation and time-management skills
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities with a collaborative mindset
- Experience in process review and continuous improvement
- Strong negotiation skills and financial awareness including cost control
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with GDP-related training
