When you work in Freight Logistics and Operations at Kuehne+Nagel, you play a key role in optimising processes and ensuring that inventory and shipments move efficiently. Your work also helps ensure that vital medicines reach patients on time and supports other essential deliveries, from wind turbines to semiconductors.
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of all warehouse processes and functions, ensuring that all inbound, outbound, and inventory related activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with operational deadlines. The role ensures that every consignment is received, processed, stored, and dispatched according to company standards and customer requirements. A key focus of the position is to maintain full compliance with all warehouse related regulatory, safety, and quality standards, ensuring that all procedures, documentation, and working practices meet internal policies as well as external compliance frameworks. The Warehouse Manager is accountable for promoting a safe, organised, and audit ready environment at all times.
How you create impact:
- Encourage teamwork, cooperation and a good working atmosphere within the department
- Administer all appropriate disciplinary procedures
- Responsible for monitoring of temperature controlled areas including the use of internal systems
- Management of external storage organisation
- Ensure that there is adequate staffing & cover for holidays & sickness
- Delegate some or all tasks, administrative or operational, as appropriate within the department
- Create and carry out team training using internal SOPs
- Maintain a high level of communication and leadership with the night shift
- Ensure all returns are processed within a reasonable time
- Undertake any other reasonable duties / responsibilities at the request of Direct Line Manager & Senior Management
- Effective communication with all staff and cooperation within the senior management team
- Work collaboratively with all internal departments to ensure maximum client satisfaction
What we would like you to bring:
- Industry experience ensuring ability to undertake all tasks/responsibilities listed above
- Comprehensive understanding of courier and freight operations, including import/export, warehouse, and transport functions, with relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including team motivation, SOP training delivery, and people management.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, QA standards, GDP regulations, and compliance within transportation and logistics environments.
- In-depth knowledge of company in-house systems and strong IT literacy, including advanced use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven experience in warehouse development, structural layout, and operational optimization.
- Strong communication, planning, organizing, and time-management skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Pro-active, flexible, and self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt to changing operational demands.
