The LCC Specialised Transport Planner executes first class services (e.g. transport management and requests & deviation management) according to joint and contractual agreements made with the customer. The LCC Specialised Transport Planner ensures daily execution of the services in scope and interacts with relevant counterparts of the involved parties for all services in scope. The role will be performed in the LCC (Logistics Control Centre) in Donnington as an integral part of the Control Tower team.
How you create impact:
- Coordinate specialised transport services for customer orders, using Oracle Transport Management system as well as manual planning activity.
- Schedule and create cost effective transport plans, making optimum use of own fleet of vehicles versus sub-contractor haulage.
- Agree with logistics service providers to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery service in full.
- Select transport modes, logistics service providers, considering the agreed selection parameters.
- Be the first line of support for logistics queries and respond constructively to customer requests to develop a proactive relationship, to create a positive approach and minimise disruption to business.
- Issue or receive as well as respond to deviations reported, by identifying root cause, causing party and proposing corrective actions (transport related).
- Support freight settlement activities in scope.
- Provide input for quality review meetings with customers or providers and, if necessary, participate in audits.

- Transport/planning knowledge and experience is preferable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and over the phone.
- Good proficiency in full suite of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to fulfil time-critical tasks, keep schedules and deadlines.
- Able to use own initiative and work unsupervised as well as within the wider team.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
