YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Customs Exports Exception Management Lead, primarily responsible for Customs Export related processes within our organisation, focusing on exception management and SLA adherence, ensuring smooth operations, compliance, and operational excellence. Playing a critical role in monitoring systems and other tools to identify, classify and resolve issues and exceptions efficiently.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify exceptions within processes, systems, or transactions - monitor data and systems to detect anomalies, analyse, root cause, classify and prioritise based on severity & impact. To realign processes and highlight system gaps for correction/improvement.
- Efficiently resolve exceptions & prevent recurrence - developing corrective actions for immediate resolution, collaborate with relevant teams to resolve in a timely manner, propose longer term improvements to prevent in future.
- Internal team audit support to ensure compliance as well as ensure consistency & improvement.
- Maintain effective communication regarding exceptions. Coordinate with all other relevant parties as required eg Customer, haulier and others.
- Accurate tracking & reporting of exceptions.
- Support in Lean principles to adapt and implement best practice.
- Provide support to team members and end users on exception handling procedures and standard customs tasks.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- Proven experience in customs and process compliance.
- Knowledge of customs export processes and procedures.
- Experience in escalation management is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and very good stakeholder management.
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
