When you work in Freight Logistics and Operations at Kuehne+Nagel, you play a key role in optimising processes and ensuring that inventory and shipments move efficiently. Your work also helps ensure that vital medicines reach patients on time and supports other essential deliveries, from wind turbines to semiconductors. You will execute first class services (e.g. transport management and requests & deviation management) according to joint and contractual agreements made with the customer. You will learn in depth about the role, services and processes through involvement and performing system testing and work instructions creation.
How you create impact
Responsibilities
- Coordinate specialised transport services for customer orders, using Loginext Transport Management system as well as manual planning activity.
- Schedule and create cost effective transport plans, making optimum use of own fleet of vehicles versus sub-contractor haulage where possible.
- Agree with logistics service providers to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery service in full
- Select transport modes, logistics service providers, considering the agreed selection parameters
- Manage ad-hoc transport requests and adjustments
- Manage along with the supplier driver routes and schedules to maximise productivity and ensure costs are controlled
- Be the first line of support for logistics queries
- Respond constructively to customer requests to develop a proactive relationship, to create a positive approach and minimise disruption to business.
