The predicted salary is between 29700 - 36300 £ per year.

Kuehne + Nagel provides a production support service package and through life support for Leonardo Helicopters that consists of all standard logistics activities such as goods receipt, quality inspection, storage and picking & packing. In addition, centres co-located with the end user ensure store to fitment service.

We are looking for an Inspection Team Leader ideally with previous experience and good IT skills.

How you create impact:

  • You will be responsible for the daily management of the inspection team including the facilities and the equipment.
  • Managing the departments workloads/resource allocation on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring all work meets with customers specifications and the required quality standard.
  • Maintaining throughput in line with the contracted/internal KPIs, taking pro-active corrective action where appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain a fully cross functional team which covers all activities.
  • Identifying practical workable pro-active solutions to potential problems ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.
  • Participate in and encourage excellent communication between the team and other departments.
  • Champion the PS program to deliver at least the minimum award.
  • Promoting the Company’s Health & Safety procedures, housekeeping standards and Company’s policies at all times.
  • Calculating and administering all staff's wage information and ensuring all holidays and absences are correctly managed and monitored.
  • Ordering materials when required whilst monitoring use and spend.
  • To carry out any additional tasks as agreed with the Operations Manager.
  • Manage and liaise with the MOD on any building/infrastructure defects.
  • Process to full completion all recruitment requirements.
  • Help prepare monthly/weekly reports on progress/opportunities to the Operations Management team.
  • Expedite the receipt, inspection, handling, storage and despatch of all customers assets in line with the agreed contract and customer requirements.
  • Be familiar with relevant customer processes, procedures, electronic technical publication, and Technical Drawings.
  • Provide technical support to the Department MTOs in all aircraft related matters.
  • Raise Quality Notifications for non-conforming product.

What we would like you to bring:

  • BTEC National Certificate Level 2/Local Equivalent (Or Higher) in a STEM subject.
  • Must be totally flexible and willing to learn.
  • Have an understanding of the need for attention to detail, with a right first time approach.
  • Can demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Shall have confidence within a busy & diverse working environment and have the ability to prioritise work on a day-to-day basis.
  • Must be computer literate and will have been trained in the use of MS Office Suite.
  • Must be willing to undergo Security Check Clearance.
  • Good housekeeping skills.
  • Has the ability to prioritise and change with the departmental needs.
  • Ideally possess a background of practical problem solving/continuous improvement.
  • Be able to clearly demonstrate superb people management skills with a focus on staff development/customer focus.
  • Have a distinct ability/track record in setting clear goals and achieving them.
  • Can demonstrate a genuine interest and understanding in maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Experience operating MJDI would be an advantage but not a necessity.
  • Will have previous experience of dealing with a totally flexible and diverse warehouse team.
