As a member of the Freight Forwarding team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. By transporting medicines, toys, and important machine parts, you are not only delivering goods, you are making small and big moments possible for people all around the world.
Sea Logistics Sales
Sea Logistics Sales are the business development arm of our Customer Care team. They spend most of the time in customer-facing activities, hunting for new business as they work hand in hand with the Customer Care colleagues.
How you create impact
- Initiate contact with potential and current customers to generate and qualify leads, promote the company's products and services, and identify sales opportunities.
- Profile & develop business relationships with prospective Sea Logistics customers through regular face-to-face engagement.
- Develop solutions for customers based on a detailed understanding of their requirements.
- Take pricing decisions in alignment with the relevant internal stakeholders.
- Prepare, submit and follow up quotations to the customers.
- Record customer-facing activity in the CRM system meeting desired activity targets.
- Bring a sense of urgency to situations, demonstrate an active approach, and be willing to get involved in order to increase the pace and achieve goals.
- Sell KN services sustainably.
This role has responsibility for building a portfolio of new business customers with a key focus on customer growth and profitability of your portfolio.
What we would like you to bring
- Experience in freight forwarding is preferential, albeit not essential.
- The ability to develop sales leads and build relationships with customers.
- A drive, assertion, and the ability to communicate with others in a logical manner.
- A self-starter, competitive, imaginative, enthusiastic, self-confident, inspiring, logical, systematic, and precise.
- A friendly approach and the ability to influence and persuade others are important to the function.
- Effective and proactive time management and forward planning.
- Full Driving License essential.
