, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliant, efficient, and future‑ready customs operations across all business units.

You will shape strategy, lead high‑performing teams, and drive innovation through continuous improvement and digitalisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee national customs operations, ensuring compliance and operational excellence across all business units.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency and service quality.
  • Identify and implement automation and digital solutions to optimise customs processes.
  • Support the onboarding of new business, including RFQs and operational integrations.
  • Build strong customer relationships and represent the operations function in key customer engagements.
  • Collaborate across functions, including IT, Sales, Compliance and Operations, to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Lead and manage strategic projects, ensuring successful implementation and measurable outcomes.
  • Inspire, develop and lead a high‑performing, inclusive team while fostering a strong performance culture.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in customs operations management within a logistics or supply chain environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international customs regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience in process optimisation, automation and continuous improvement.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach and develop diverse teams.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience of leading cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in customs management systems (e. g. Cargo Wise or similar platforms).
  • Fluent English; additional language skills would be an advantage.
