We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Road Logistics Customs team in Kegworth. Our Road Logistics team at Kuehne+Nagel provide hundreds of customers with the services to move their goods across Europe. The sales team work directly to source, engage and maintain our customer base, ensuring that our customers' shipments are booked in efficiently and delivered on time. We work with a diverse customer base – you could find yourself shipping canoes to Croatia or shoes to Slovakia.

How you create impact

Our 24-month Apprenticeship programme is designed to provide you with the perfect blend of practical on-the-job training and study towards the Sales Level 4 Apprenticeship standard. You will work within a successful Customs team while learning everything you need to know to be a top performer, supported by your peers, your managers, and the apprenticeship team within Kuehne+Nagel. In your apprenticeship, you will work within a team of Customs Exception Management Specialists, working within defined processes and procedures, operating within service level agreements, and prioritising accordingly. Playing a critical role in monitoring systems and other tools to identify, classify and resolve issues and exceptions efficiently. Beyond this, there is an opportunity for successful apprentices to secure a full-time customs position, as well as achieving bonuses and pay rises connected to the apprenticeship programme.

Over the two years you’ll be learning how to:

  • Develop an understanding of international trade and customs procedures.
  • Gain knowledge of import and export processes and documentation requirements.
  • Understand HMRC regulations and international trade compliance standards.
  • Build confidence in identifying and resolving discrepancies in documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in meetings and training sessions.
  • Understand escalation processes for compliance or operational issues.
  • Gain exposure to career pathways within customs and international trade.
