Salary: £90,000 - £105,000 plus benefits, bonus and LTIP. Schofield Sweeney LLP is a commercial law firm based in West Yorkshire, established in 1998. With 39 Partners and 80 additional fee earners, the firm is known for providing a high‑quality service focused on building strong, tailored relationships with clients. The current Finance Director is departing after two successful years to devote more time to family business matters. A key part of the transition will be a hand‑over period with the new Finance Director to ensure continuity and smooth integration. The Finance Director will report directly to the Executive Board and must bring strong technical and commercial expertise to the firm. The role requires a growth mindset to unlock significant opportunities and to help drive the firm’s 5‑Year Plan, targeting significant growth and increased profitability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute the firm’s financial strategy in line with long‑term goals.
- Ensure rigorous financial controls and compliance evolve with growth and complexity.
- Collaborate with all levels of the firm, building genuine relationships with partners and staff.
- Provide commercial insight and robust financial challenge to senior stakeholders.
- Lead the financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and reporting processes.
Qualifications and attributes:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA).
- Extensive experience in a people‑centric organisation.
