Braai Bird is part of the Kudu Collective family founded by husband and wife duo Amy & Patrick in 2017. Our South African roots inspire the food - rotisserie chicken, sides, sauces and plenty of flavour. We pride ourselves on friendly, intimate service with a keen attention to quality and detail.

The Role

Responsible for maintaining kitchen cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation, and supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, ovens, grills, sinks, and stoves to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Washing dishes, cutlery, utensils, and cookware to ensure chefs and kitchen staff have constant access to clean equipment.
  • Assisting with food preparation, such as peeling, washing, and cutting ingredients when required.
  • Unloading deliveries of food and equipment and storing them in the correct areas.
  • Organizing storage areas, including freezers, fridges, and pantries, to maintain order and accessibility.
  • Taking out garbage and ensuring waste is disposed of properly.
  • Performing ad-hoc tasks as needed to support kitchen operations.
  • Attend and contribute to daily/weekly team meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • A genuine love for hospitality and guest experience.
  • A thorough knowledge of and adherence to the law regarding the following company regulations:

    • Food Handling and Hygiene Regulations
    • Fire Regulations and Procedures
    • First Aid Procedures
