We're looking for a sharp, technically-minded SEO Exec to join our organic search team. Full-time · Birmingham or remote.
Are you the type who can't look at a client site without mentally auditing it? We're looking for an SEO Exec who gets genuine satisfaction from turning a messy crawl report into a roadmap that actually moves the needle. At Kubix, we're a Shopify Platinum agency - our clients are scaling eCommerce brands who need SEO that's technically airtight and commercially focused, not just a monthly ranking report. We need someone who's as comfortable diagnosing a canonicalisation issue as they are talking a client through why it matters. You won't just be running audits for the sake of it; you'll be building the roadmaps that drive real organic growth, and seeing them through to delivery. This role reports directly into the Head of SEO.
What You'll Do
- SEO Audits That Matter: Run technical, content, and on-site audits that surface the insights actually worth acting on, not just a list of every issue a crawler can find.
- Roadmap Planning: Turn audit findings into clear, prioritised roadmaps that clients can follow and that deliver measurable growth.
- Client Account Management: Own the ongoing SEO programme for your accounts - audits, roadmaps, and keyword research, delivered on a consistent cadence.
- Roadmap Delivery: Get hands-on with implementation, from schema markup and metadata to structural fixes and see roadmap items through from recommendation to execution.
- Keyword & Intent Research: Identify keyword opportunities and map them to genuine search intent, using tools like Search Console and Ahrefs to inform strategy.
- AI/GEO: Apply AI-driven search tactics to improve the discoverability of Shopify websites across AI surfaces such as ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Get 'under the hood' of client sites to diagnose issues like canonicalisation conflicts, hreflang misconfigurations, and indexation problems.
- Client Communication: Present findings and roadmaps clearly, translating technical detail into recommendations clients can actually act on.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work alongside our Shopify development and content teams to make sure SEO recommendations get built properly, not lost in a backlog.
About You
- Technically Grounded: You understand what's happening under the hood of a website, not just what a tool tells you to fix.
- Insight-Led: You know the difference between a long audit and a useful one, and you know how to find the 20% of findings that drive 80% of the impact.
- Commercially Minded: You think about SEO in terms of business growth, not just rankings and traffic.
- A Clear Communicator: You can explain hreflang to a developer and to a client, in the right language for each.
- Delivery-Focused: You don't just hand over a roadmap and move on, you follow through until it's live.
- AI-Focussed: You understand the importance of AI-driven search and how AI is transforming the search landscape. Your approach to SEO is focused on improving visibility across AI-search channels.
Skills / Qualities
- 2+ Years of SEO Experience: Agency experience is a strong plus, you're used to managing multiple client accounts at once and working to deadlines.
- Strong Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of canonicalisation, hreflang implementation, and schema markup, and how each affects crawling, indexing, and rendering.
- Audit & Roadmap Experience: A track record of producing SEO audits and roadmaps that clients have actually implemented and seen results from.
- Keyword Research Skills: Comfortable working with Search Console data and keyword research tools to inform content and technical priorities.
Plus Points
- eCommerce & Shopify Experience: Familiarity with the quirks of Shopify SEO is highly valued.
- Tooling: Experience with Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, GA4, and Google Search Console.
- Structured Data: Hands-on experience implementing schema markup at scale across a site.
- Reporting: Experience building client-facing SEO reports and decks that tell a clear story, not just show numbers.
Salary Expectations: We appreciate that showing a salary indication is helpful for you to know whether it works with your personal circumstances, and it can be extremely frustrating to keep something so important so vague. But honestly? We’re in a position to consider a wide variety of experiences and salary levels for this role, so we’d rather discuss your experience and skills than try to set a salary bracket. If you’re the best person for the role, then we’ll offer a salary that works.
Do you want to be our next SEO Executive? Now it's over to you. Submit your application and one of our team will be in touch.
