About Kuberno

At Kuberno, putting our customers at the heart of everything we do is our superpower. We’ve walked in their shoes, understand the realities of governance and compliance and build technology our customers genuinely value. Despite being a scaling business, Kuberno is already trusted by FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 organisations, large globally distributed private groups and leading managed service providers across multiple regions. And we’re only just getting started. Backed by Nasdaq and Barclays, we’re building the category-defining governance platform for legal, company secretarial and finance teams.

Our flagship product, Kube, is a future-ready entity management platform designed to help organisations rethink how they manage governance and compliance at scale.

The Opportunity

This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with the business and wants genuine ownership early in their career. You’ll work directly with the CEO in the UK and CLO in the US. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, InfoSec and Customer teams to help manage and negotiate a growing volume of commercial agreements across a fast-scaling enterprise SaaS environment. This is not a traditional in-house legal role focused on hierarchy, process for process’ sake or endless escalation. We’re looking for someone practical, commercially aware and confident operating independently. Someone who understands how to balance legal risk with business momentum and can help move deals forward while protecting the company appropriately. The role will initially focus primarily on commercial contracting, but there will also be exposure over time to broader legal and operational matters as the business continues to grow.

What Makes This Role Different

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind policy documents or operate far away from the commercial reality of the business. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys operating close to commercial decision-making
  • Can negotiate confidently without becoming adversarial
  • Understands how enterprise SaaS businesses operate
  • Is comfortable making sensible judgement calls independently
  • Enjoys working cross-functionally with non-legal stakeholders
  • Wants broad exposure and the opportunity to grow with the business

You’ll be joining at an exciting stage of growth, helping shape how legal support operates inside a scaling, globally-focused SaaS business.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work closely with leadership and operational teams to support commercial activity, customer negotiations and day-to-day legal matters across the business.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial SaaS agreements, customer contracts and supplier agreements
  • Supporting enterprise procurement and customer negotiation processes
  • Advising internal stakeholders on practical legal and commercial risk
  • Supporting data protection and privacy matters, including DPAs and customer privacy negotiations
  • Working closely with Sales, Operations and InfoSec teams to help unblock commercial activity
  • Helping improve legal processes, templates and operational workflows
  • Supporting the business with broader legal matters where required, including occasional corporate, IP or dispute-related issues
  • Using legal technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and scalability across legal workflows
  • Acting as a trusted internal legal partner across the business

Working With Leadership

This role reports into the CEO in the UK, with a dotted line into the CLO in the US and operates as a highly trusted business partner across the organisation. That means:

  • Operating with a high degree of autonomy and ownership
  • Bringing commercially pragmatic judgement and recommendations
  • Helping improve how legal work is handled operationally across the business
  • Escalating genuinely complex or strategic matters appropriately
  • Staying solutions-focused and commercially collaborative

What We’re Looking For

This role is likely best suited to someone currently operating as a:

  • Commercial Legal Counsel
  • Commercial Associate
  • Technology / Commercial Contracts Lawyer
  • SaaS or Technology-focused In-house Lawyer

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • 2–4 years PQE (or equivalent commercial experience)
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Exposure to SaaS, technology or enterprise customer environments
  • A practical, commercially-minded approach to legal problem solving
  • Confidence operating independently in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Exposure to data protection and privacy matters
  • Curiosity around AI, legal technology and operational improvement
  • A low-ego, collaborative working style

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Prior in-house experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise SaaS sales cycles
  • Exposure to governance, compliance or regulated industries
  • Experience working cross-functionally with operational or technical teams
  • Experience using AI or legal technology tools in practice

Location

This is a fully remote role based in the UK. We are particularly interested in candidates based outside London who are looking for high-quality work, autonomy and progression within a scaling global business.
