The Learning Disability Service provided by Dumfries and Galloway's Health & Social Care Partnership supports young people and adults with a range of needs including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and autism spectrum conditions.
As a Casual Driver, you would be responsible for transporting service users to and from Kirkconnel Activity & Resource Centre (ARC), ensuring their comfort, security, and safety during transport, along with other related duties.
Please note that this post is casual and covers annual leave and sickness. You will be required to complete mandatory CPI Safety Intervention Training, Manual Handling Training, Epilepsy Training, MIDAS, Driver CPC training, and the Council's online mandatory courses.
Applicants must hold a D1 entitlement on their current driving license. This post is considered regulated work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check before a formal employment offer is made. Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
