The role is responsible for taking customer design instructions and coordinating them to the project workflow manager. Reviewing the customer requirements and based on the technical specifications producing a design instruction, the Design Authority is to review the designs to ensure compliance with customer specifications and requirements and submit/upload them to customer systems for approval.
Needs to Have:
- Degree in relevant discipline and Project Management Accreditation desirable
- Good Technical understanding of Telecommunications Industry design standards essential
- Experience on Cornerstone and dependency management essential
- Knowledge of current UK H&S regulations and design standards
- Excellent Commercial aptitude
- Strong understanding of project methodology
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Strong organisational ability with experience in MS Project or similar project tools
- Proven skills in delivery of project KPIs and experience in customer facing role
Needs to Do:
- Produce Design instructions to KTL partners and support customer dependencies, taking into consideration structural and electrical requirements and buildability of solution.
- Review Designs from KTL partners and confirm design compliance with client standards
- Highlight and escalate major design variance through the project team
- Review and confirm site can be built in accordance with design.
- Act as the main point of contact between the customer and the project team
- Implementation and maintenance of relevant approved processes, procedures, health and safety and technical standards and ensure their consistency with requirements of other departments
- Management of the relevant sub-contractors, monitor performance in terms of time, cost, quality and health & safety
- Oversee drawing revision process manage all corrective actions prior to client handover
- Responsible for ensuring all handover documentation is completed and submitted Right First Time
