Role Description
The Automotive Accessory Fitter is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Gateshead.
This role involves fitting and installing a variety of accessories to commercial vehicles, such as racking, lighting, security systems, tow bars, and other interior and exterior enhancements.
Day‑to‑day tasks include accurately following fitting instructions and technical drawings, using appropriate tools and equipment, and ensuring all work is completed safely and to company standards.
The fitter will inspect completed installations, troubleshoot basic issues, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
The role also includes communicating with supervisors or colleagues about job progress, following health and safety guidelines, and supporting continuous improvement in fitting processes.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, fitting instructions, and vehicle specifications.
- Practical skills in using hand and power tools safely and effectively for vehicle accessory installation.
- Basic mechanical or automotive knowledge, including understanding of vehicle structures and electrical systems.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality, accuracy, and neat workmanship.
- Good problem‑solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve fitting or installation issues.
